Microsphere molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction for diazepam analysis using itaconic acid as a monomer in propanol

Abstract Diazepam (DZP) is a benzodiazepine drug used as an anti-drug and sedative. It often misused to induce or create euphoria in combination with other drugs (high fly sensation) administered alone. So far, screening for DZP abuse sensitive analytical methods needed, its small concentrations make it difficult detect. Increased sensitivity of the method can be obtained by using preparation that selectively separates analyte from sample matrix. Molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) one solutions good selectivity, specificity, sensitivity. MIP was made template, itaconic acid, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate composition 1:4:20. precipitation polymerisation obtain microsphere type. had binding capacity value 0.0557 mg/g followed Freundlich isotherm. Application on spiked blood serum resulted recovery 105.63 ± 1.0% compared 21.28 0.4% non-imprinted polymer, imprinting factor reaching 4.96. Hence, acid functional monomer propanol porogen, fabricated method, promising sorbent extraction biological fluids.
